DD13 sneaked off and met up with her best friend

Really disappointed in my dd13. She has a best friend who are always gets into trouble with. DH and I have an instinct that she is very controlling although obviously we can't blame it all on her friend as my dd should know her own mind. Anyway my dd offered to take the dog for a long walk, which we were surprised by, she usually moans when we ask her. Anyway she was out ages well over an hour so we checked the tracker on her iPhone. Lo and behold she was at the park next door to her best friends house. They had met up. I phoned her and told her to get home, told her to get in the shower and wash her clothes. She admitted they had hugged hello and goodbye. Just so angry with her that she thought it was ok to do this in the lock down and that she lied about where she was going. It seems like whenever this friend clicks her fingers my dd comes running. Sad

I agree she should not have done it but it is very hard for everyone.
My 2 dd 16 and 15 see on social media other people meeting up and that makes it so much harder when they see other people doing it

Alot off people go out to shops daily and touch stuff someone else will have touched and put our shopping on the conveyor belt and pass each other.
Just show her a few clips off how bad it is
My dd friend is 16 today and she was begging her to come around but my dd said no she wasn't breaking the rules

Can’t she just arrange to walk the dog with her friend at a distance? And not hug?

PersonaNonGarter · 29/04/2020 22:18

You need to grow up about the friend. Stop this transferring. It is your DD making her own decisions.

I agree. Stop blaming the friend. It's very naive.

True, birds of a feather flock together and all that.
