What’s kind of structure to the day have your teens been following?

God almost nothing and it's driving me potty. The preteen however is getting up, doing yoga, having breakfast, starting work at 8am then carrying on until all of her work is done. For once, she's being a bloody angel 😇

None because the first work set doesn't need to be in until Monday, so there's no need to do it now. I'm so angry I'm not speaking to her but she doesn't know that because she's too busy watching TV.

It’s a load of grief here and I don’t think DD is doing enough. She is at a really academic school and they are setting tons of work.

I am working ft from home and have a fairly set work routine - my teen is bloody hard work 😓.

We are starting at nine and powering through until 12:45 ready for the news. Then another 30 minutes- an hour in the afternoon.

We are doing all the subjects in one day. So all history today and some online stuff like Seneca and dlingo or whatever it’s called.

I’m sick of it already but I thought the lack of any structure would be worse.

Very little if I’m honest. They are saying they have done what’s needed but I’m not checking. Be lucky if they are doing more than an hour or so.
Tbh I am working in school and I would say that matches that for them. We are doing lots of creative stuff and trying to have fun.
Kids are all in the same boat and their mental health comes before school work for now.

We've insisted on a routine of sorts from day 1 - start at 9ish and work through until lunchtime then exercise / creative / chilled time in the afternoon and do as you please after normal school time. We had to, otherwise ds would have been lying on his bed watching YouTube and TicToc all day every day. To be fair, he's been pretty good.

Homeschooling is just starting today in this house. Ds is yr 13 and refused to do anything last week. After a major rule-break last night, my softly-softly approach is a distant memory. I am really cross with him and he knows it and knows why so will not put up any protest.
I have been and still am very conscious of his mental health but I think I've really ballsed it up by letting him structure his learning routine (prior to all of this aswell as the last two weeks).

DS doing what is set for him and that's it. I tried to say do abit extra on that bbc bite together but not interested.
