Does anyone here use anything like the above for your teenager for revision or homework?

Not really. I gave them support to study and advice etc. Homework was supported but ultimately they had to learn to manage their own workload and reap the reward or consequences of a bad/good effort. Teenage years help them prepare for life so they need supported to take responsibility for their own actions and choices. Work and exams is for their own benefit so why be rewarded? The reward is education or qualification...
if they did well or after exam effort (before results) then maybe a celebratory drink or meal out by all means.

No - I have been very clear that school is for their benefit, I'm delighted for them when they do well but it's up to them, their future, I'm here to support, get them what they need but I believe they need to develop internal motivation, the desire to succeed needs to come from them.

...no, the reward for doing their homework and revision is not spending their lives working minimum wage zero hour service jobs they hate.

If youre having to bribe your kids to do their jobs (ie, school) youve gone off the rails somewhere.

Contribute to a big purchase for good results. "Good jobs" in the future is a too far-fetched goal for a kid who sees the news about another kid winning millions playing Fortnite.

I wouldn't say I do but I do pay for my DD to watch a film in cinema or go to a gig (the 25 one, not the expensive ones!) However, my DD works really hard revising/studying (doing gsces) and can easily do 5 hours after school so I see it as her having a bit of break. She cheakily asked a while back whether we would give her a reward if she got good gsces and I said no as it's her education but I do think we may contribute to a day pass at reading festival or something similar. Nothing to do with the results though: just a appreciation of how hard she worked.

Against the grain here.
We have always rewarded effort grades.
£5.00 for exceptional effort (per subject)
£2.50 for good effort
£0 for expected effort.

We have children with very different academic abilities so we felt rewarding effort was the only way forward.

We’ve kind of started this... we’ll see how it goes x
