Hi , I’m looking for advice for my dd if 13 she is getting to be a handful she causes rows in the house & lying . I have to the app where I can see where she is on my phone this week she left the school at lunch time & got a taxi with a friend to a shopping centre
I could see her location & immediately messaged there was no way she could lie & said it was a one off however it is breaking school rules this week I confiscated her phone & later on caught her using one of my old phones in her room
She’s constantly screaming I know it’s hormones , she has made a bad selection of friends at school who are always up to no good . How do I deal with this behaviour ? I just feel that I don’t trust her any more

That does sound a bit full on. Have you asked the school for any help? How is she behaving there?

Try and spend some time reconnecting with her, explain the impact of her behaviour on you.

how did she sneak out of school?

ragged I should imagine that they were allowed out at lunchtime. The High School in the next town to us let all years out at lunch. Ours are more like a high security prison.

I agree with spending more time with her to reconnect, maybe you need to be more involved in her life to know just what actually is happening to her. Talking openly helps a lot. At the same time, trust goes along with maturity, if you cannot trust her (aka she is not behaving as a girl of her age should do) just make a step back in discipline, less privileges, more restriction, more control and checks until she consistently shows she can be trusted and regain that. It could mean take her to school and bring her back, earlier bedtime (since it's a big factor that influences behavior), if you use a parental control app set also the maximum screen time to less than one hour a day, no going out with friends... not really as punishment but more as a need in her best interest. Take actions but be patient, supportive and understanding, never angry.
