We have to organise this for the summer and I’m hitting brick walls with our work.

Had anyone got any bright ideas??

What is your dc interested in? What subjects at school or any idea what they’d like to do when they’re older?
Think of all your friends and acquaintances, and their partners, parents etc. So any of them work in relevant areas? If so, have a word with them and they may offer an opportunity.
If not, school should be able to provide some pointers and support.

He’s quite techy (won school prize for computing) but has a fascination for chemistry.

If you're anywhere near a university they sometimes offer work experience weeks in specific subjects. (Met someone who ran one for physics)

What area do you live in?

I think Marks and Spencers run a Work Experience Programme or at least they did a couple years ago when our son took part. Maybe ask in store or have a look on their website.

I think it's rare they do anything that useful or relies on them being academic, tbh!
My local wildlife sanctuary would gladly oblige.
DS actually went to garden centre... DD got an office placement in district council offices.

Primary schools and pre-schools are always happy to take kids.
