Best skincare for oily/blackhead skin?

Dd has really bad blackheads. She has a few bad spots, she seems to pick them!! It drives me mad, she picks her lips and any scabs she has.

As a result two of her spots look so sore.

She had clean and clear stuff and used it this morning and her face has gone all red.

What’s best? And what sort of stuff does she need?

DS uses the Body Shop T-tree Oil range. Seems to work miracles on spots and blackheads. They also have offers if you buy more than one item!

DD uses Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Charcoal face wash and the face mask.
If your DD has a 'few bad spots' and is' picking them' it may be best to take her to the GP who may prescribe ABs.
DD used to get hormonal break outs and the ABs have stopped that.

Acnecide spot cream (5% benzoyl peroxide) has transformed dds skin. Definitely try it.

My dad uses the pink grapefruit facial wash from Neutrogena, but only at nights, that way it doesn’t try out her face. It doesn’t do anything for blackheads but it’s quite good for removing excess grease, especially in the T-Zone. Maybe she could try Biore Ultra Nose Strips?? I know they are only temporary, but still fun weekly or so xx gd luck xx

This will sound old-fashioned, but it worked for me and is now working for DD 12:

Gentle wash with a mild, plain soap, such as goat's milk. Pat dry. Carefully dab hydrogen peroxide 3% on pimples.

Once a week, steam face over a saucepan of hot water (with towel over head to keep the steam in) for about five minutes. Pat (by now very red) face dry. Make a sticky paste from 1 tbsp oatmeal and tepid water and apply it to greasy and acne-affected areas. Let it dry while you read or otherwise veg out. We usually leave our packs on for an hour, then gently rub off the oatmeal into the compost box. Use a warm washcloth to dab off the remaining oatmeal.

Cheap and effective.

Duac cream, from GP. My daughter can’t do without it.

I saw a dermatologist about 7 years ago as I still had acne at 22 (not severe but breakouts every few weeks and constant greasy skin). I had tried so many different, and often expensive products and ad some painful procedures. The dermatologist recommended just plain Dove soap. I was skeptical as I was always told by my mum that soap is the worst thing for the face but I tried it. Plus it seemed to simple of a solution after 12 years of acne. Within days however I noticed an improvement, my skin isn't oily and breakouts are almost never.
They can also be bought in a pack of 4 from Poundland so win-win. (I know you can't shop there atm but they are still cheap in supermarkets etc).
What I like to do is melt the bars on the hob on a low heat or bain marie style and add a few drops of lavender oil and drop of tea tree oil for added benefits before pouring into a small tupperware box to set again.
