Can you phone NHS 24?

Carmenere · 12/08/2007 20:55

Did he eat his tea? If so it is probably not drug related.

CharleeWeasley · 12/08/2007 20:55

Is he saying anything at all? I would call NHS Direct.

jollymum · 12/08/2007 20:55

It's not kind of thing. He's been outr and to be fair, could be very tired. Is tiny pupils a sign of drug misuse? That's what I need to know. Checking on NHS lines on line now to be fair, can you imagine me waking him up and telling him we need NHS direct?

Can you wake him up see how responsive he is?

jollymum · 12/08/2007 20:56

Yes tea eaten. Typical teen thing but pupils are worrying me.

CharleeWeasley · 12/08/2007 20:57

Drug abuse can lead to tiny pupils and agressiveness but im sure it's not the only thing that can.

jollymum · 12/08/2007 20:57

Uh, wake him up??? Taking my life in my hands? He's well grumpy and seriously mouthy.

OP posts:
MascaraOHara · 12/08/2007 20:57

he just sounds tired?!?

not sure what the issue is? I wouldn't worry about his pupils being small.. hpw old is he?

Carmenere · 12/08/2007 20:58

If he had taken drugs that make his pupils go small he would most likely not have eaten.

jollymum · 12/08/2007 20:58

What drugs in particular? Dope or coke, important to me to know now which is which..

OP posts:
CharleeWeasley · 12/08/2007 20:58

I wouldn't think he is in any danger even if it were drungs i would just keep a close eye on him and then you can call for help is his breathing gets bad or something.

Carmenere · 12/08/2007 20:58

Yes wake him.

jollymum · 12/08/2007 20:59

Long story told elsewher on MN, just checking tonight because I haven't checked his eyes before.

Carmenere · 12/08/2007 21:00

Amphetamines and coke and heroin can make your pupils go small not dope. However it may not be any of them.

CharleeWeasley · 12/08/2007 21:00

Extacy,
Methamphetamine:
LSD

Most chemicals can dilate the pupils.

gibberish · 12/08/2007 21:01

Jollymum, you know him best. If your instincts are telling you all is not right, you maybe should trust them. NHS direct will be able to give you advice on whether you should be concerned or not.

jollymum · 12/08/2007 21:01

Have you tried waking a tired 17 yr old,, Light blue touch paper and retire!!

OP posts:
Carmenere · 12/08/2007 21:03

I'm sorry if you are scared of waking him that is ridiculous. I have a 18 yr old dss and he would NEVER shout and be agressive with me if I woke him. This is not normal.

CharleeWeasley · 12/08/2007 21:03

look www.talktofrank.com/home_html.aspx here it's called FRANK its great for parents concerned about drugs.

jollymum · 12/08/2007 21:05

FFS DH is now arguing about drugs/alcohol and saying that DS was OK earlier. Says the biggest pisshead I know

Is your other thread in Teenages under a different name? if so i just read it. I wouls try calling a helpline they deal with parents everyday who are not sure if there children are using drugs or not. My DFB is a heavy drug user and my mums a drug and alcahol councelor so if you need anyone to talk to i can try my best.

CharleeWeasley · 12/08/2007 21:10
