is it their job in life?

dd1 is 15, was sent home yesterday with a cold, and is off today

but she has an orthodontal appointment in 40 mins time, i would cancel but it's already been rebooked once

anyway 40 minutes ago i told her we had to be ready to leave in 2.15

until 5 mins ago she was sitting in her dressing gown with soaking wet hair eating asandwich, making no attempts to get ready

after yelling she goes into her bedroom , turns her music up and still no sound of the drier, apparently she is "getting dressed"

she came out of her room in a skirt about a foot above her knees, so she was sent back to change, which she did so with a sulk

current status is she is partially dressed, brushing teeth and still no hair drying has occured

cue steam coming out of my ears .......

also she is 5ft 10.5, so when she wears a short skirt, it looks even shorter

teenage girls do, boys don't intend too, they are just males. Girls are more intelligent and know how to annoy their mothers. I am going through the same with DD........i can't even look at her at the moment she winds me up something mad!!!!

I keep telling myself it will pass.....

keep smiling

lou33 · 27/06/2007 14:13

i said if i come and touch your hair will it feel dry or damp?

oh i havent finished drying it yet

Make her go out with wet hair. After all the orthodontist is only going to be interested in her teeth .

Pimmpom · 27/06/2007 14:56

DD (14) knows exactly what buttons to push and I fall for it every time!

I keep trying to smile Idobelieve, but it is coming out as more of a grimace atm!

lou33 · 27/06/2007 16:28

oh i did make her leave with wet hair

just annoys me that she has known when we were leaving all day, but still wasnt ready on time

I do find that children in general, and possibly teenagers in particular, have no concept of time. It's always in the future so of no relevance now.

I try to get the boys out of the door in the mornings for school, but, even if they've got up in time and everything seems to be going smoothly, you can bet your life there will be something which means we're running late. And even if you give 10 then 5 minute warnings, they always act surprised when you eventually say "Now!"

lljkk · 27/06/2007 18:04

And with little kids, Freckle, one of them will always have a sudden and desperate need for the toilet about 3 seconds after you try to leave for school.

lou33 · 27/06/2007 18:05

funnily enough i dont have too much trouble with the morning school run, can get all 4 of them and myself up fed and out in 40 mins

yes they do.

But more often they do it because they are strange, self absorbed individuals who think
a. the world revolved around them
b. the whole world is against them
c. Onlt they hhave ever been young

You remember don't you????

lou33 · 27/06/2007 18:19
