coolmum223 · 30/11/2018 07:44

So DD15 at the moment has the following symptoms

  1. sore throat
  2. very dry mouth
  3. Minor headache
  4. exhaustation
  5. fatigue
  6. Blocked/runny nose
  7. minor pain when swalllowing (although this has accompanied her sore throats since she was little and apparently it's not painful it just feels like her throats dry more)
  8. not sure where this fits in but she's constantly falling asleep since Wednesday night. So what's wrong with her if anything. She's been telling me that she's fine, it's nothing and all this other stuff so i won't do anything. what's wrong with her please tell me before I send her into school

She's got a cold

sauvignonblancplz · 30/11/2018 07:46

Am I missing something? She has a cold! Why are you getting ina too? Do you think there is something more sinister ?

sauvignonblancplz · 30/11/2018 07:46

*tiz

Brexshit · 30/11/2018 07:46

Glandular fever? Get her to the GP for blood test. I had this at that age, same symptoms.

legalseagull · 30/11/2018 07:47

My first Biscuit

justforareply · 30/11/2018 07:51

That's fairly standard for a cold surely?
I had one last week and apart from just about being able to get to work - only just and left as early as possible and very part time - I did zero at home, just went to bed with lemsick Baileys

FreckledLeopard · 30/11/2018 08:03

Could be glandular fever. Check the roof of her mouth - if there's tiny pinprick red dots then it's glandular fever

CherryPavlova · 30/11/2018 08:03

Cold.

MsJolly · 30/11/2018 08:05

Possibly glandular fever-I has it at the same age. There is no treatment I think just R&R but go to the GP for blood test and diagnosis

coolmum223 · 30/11/2018 08:10

@sauvignonblancplz yes I think so because this is the first time I've ever seen her like this with a cold so it's a new thing. That and I can tell she's resisting the urge to vomit a lot which makes me think it's more than a cold as well since I've never see anyone vomit due to a cold

There was a thing on this morning earlier in the week about carbon monoxide. These are all the symptoms of poisoning. Do you have an alarm?

coolmum223 · 30/11/2018 13:21

@Firsttimer1234 yes we do several. She said it's getting worse in school so I don't think it's that

Could be thyroid issue if ongoing

Lonecatwithkitten · 01/12/2018 08:10

Assume it is a cold until it last more than 10 days then you see a doctor to investigate further, but it still could be a cold.
If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a duck - the first rule of medicine.

coolmum223 · 01/12/2018 10:29

Update: sorry bit late but nothing serious. Just a general bug. when she came home yesterday she was sick in the toilet but after that seemed to be starting on the road to recovery and is only half as bad today as she was yesterday. Think I just over reacted because I've never seen anyone like that before especially her since she literally never gets sick

Have a look at her tonsils, OP. Tonsillitis can be very nasty.

coolmum223 · 01/12/2018 11:16

@HollowTalk don't think I need to. Her throat seems to be getting better. Think it was just a nasty case of sore throat for the throat. A lot of people in my office have had it. She's been taking Those throat things (don't ask me the name) and it seems to get better
