So DD15 spent around 4 and a half hours tonight on homework. And she didn't even do that many subjects homework. She did her maths homework afterschool in the library which took her a hour and then she came home and completed 2 more subjects homework. This all added up to four and a half hours spent on homework she didn't finish until after 9:30. She is absolutely exhausted all the time as this is not a one off occurrence. By the way just so you know she isn't procrastinating she seems to be writing nonstop for long periods of time and so it's not procrastination. I feel sorry for her at weekends homework is even more intense she has no time for anything fun anymore. The teachers tell her that it's what she needs to complete to do well in school. In reality I think it's too much I did well with all A's and A*'s with less than half the amount of work she did. Something that annoys me it's subjects she doesn't even care about/need that are some of the big time wasters. a RS GCSE is mandatory in her school (and yet a language isn't what's more important in the modern world) and RS takes her more time to complete than her maths, Spanish and ICT homework put together. 3 very important GCSE's.
Is there anything i can do about this she's been in tears about this homework before because she says she can't complete it all (she's finding herself having to sacrifice friendships to complete homework I'm not joking). I'm disgusted by it and I want to do something
