My dd1 used to do muay Thai (for 3 yrs), swimming lessons (for 5 yrs), athetics (for 1 Yr) and football (for 1 Yr).

She is very good in aĺl but she got bored....but she doesn't know what else to do.

I've suggested art classes as she does enjoy that...but no.

She is a popular girl in her school but she "is not good making friends".. They are her words..

She is on her phone alot but she is not going out

Once pkace near to us is advertising a Teen Yoga class too big. Would she be interested in something like that? Smile

DS1(14) loves rugby, cycling, listening to music and playing on the PS4. He recently gave up scouts after 8 years!

DS2 (9) loves football, minecraft and you tube

Jilted - ive not come across teen yoga. I mean I think I could do some of it in the adult classes myself

DS1 (13): drama, singing, ballet, tap, ukelele - just performing generally
DS2 (11); chess, korfball, netball, gaming.

Couldn't be more different but I'm happy they've each found their 'things'.

big I’m not sure if they do anything different in the yoga class but all the participants are teenagers Smile

Also consider voluntary work. My dd made ameal for a homeless shelter (as too young to be in contact with adults), the other one helped with riding for the disabled once a week for a year. This is also good for their cv when they want to apply to uni or get a paid job. The best thing is how it opens their eyes.

DD does football, netball and tennis staggered through the year.

Ds did rookie lifeguard training at our local pool after his swimming lessons competed which he enjoyed for a while, was something a bit different and improved his swimming skills.

Well, I've spoken to my dd1 and she decided to give D of E a go at her school. (as they do it and yes we will chase it up) and sort of photography but she want to put the picture onto the computer and change a few things..like graphic arts.

I wanted to say a massive thank you everyone and fingers cross for her to get a hobby.

Photography & DofE are two excellent choices. When she’s got going with her photography, encourage her to join a local club, it’s probably best if you go along with her st first though. Once she finds her style, there will be lots of books for her to read too Smile

I'd second The Scouts (Explorers is the Section that starts at 14).
If she joins a good, active Unit, then it will give her the opportunity to try lots of different things - including DofE, volunteering, and sports like climbing and kayaking. Potential to do Gang Shows as well if she thinks performing might be her 'thing'.

biglips · 17/09/2018 09:11

She is gonna start photography at home and build up her confidence and go outside as she worried about what other people think about it!.

Yes I've mentioned explorers to her. If the D of E doesn't work out for her, I will strongly suggest explorers.
