Teenager friendly books on emotional intelligence?

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for a book that my dd14 could read that would help her on the topic of managing her emotions. She is having some friendship issues that centre around flying off the handle and sometimes being unaware of how others are feeling. We do talk about it, but thought a book she could take away and read might be helpful! TIA

I'm a bit skeptical tbh. Would it be more helpful to her to read about improving resilience, which is basically skills to deal with problems so they aren't so overwhelming. Emot. outburst is a sign she's not coping, not a sign that emotions need to be controlled.

**ps: if she's the sort who can benefit from just reading a book & wouldn't feel pressured by whatever the book said.

How about Don’t let emotions run your life?

lljk - I think she certainly needs to look at resilience too. We have also been noticed the outbursts at home, mainly at her younger brother who she find infuriating!

JiltedJohn - that book looks interesting - very much the sort of thing I was looking for. Thank you!

Also I remember reading something before about the teenage brain and how at this age they feel emotions more strongly and intensely than adults do. They also have less capacity to regulate their reactions which is usually why they are so emotional and over dramatic about everything Grin
