Uni and rent

Me and my husband are out of work full time carers to our 2 disabled children. So we recieve carers allowance income support , housing benefit.
Our eldest starts uni in Sept. So we loose her child benefit, child tax and csa (biological dad) . She gets the highest amount of uni loans due to us being unemployed, along with a scholarship which doesn't need paying back. She arranged to live in the dorms due to the high amount of loans she's receiving and it will be £160 a week including bills except food. She's changed her mind and wants to live home and save her money for a car and to spend. She means to stay here for free. She works on weekend too and a morning a week making around £150 a week often more sometimes less.
She doesn't think she should contribute to the home. We don't live a comfortable lifestyle and just get by. From Sept I will loose around £90 per week Her uni loans include money she might need for a place to live but she wants to keep it to stay here for free for 3 years .
How much would you charge for board? For everything included food and bills?
I'm at a loss deciding I was thinking maybe £50. As I loose £90 and she is still left with £100 a week less or more from work and a full £10,000 A year uni loan.

Does this sound reasonable?

I would give her 2 options 1. Live out and pay £160 or 2. Live at home and pay £90. Option 2 is better for her financially but she will still be ok if she chooses option 1. Just be aware that she'll only be at uni for about half the year so, presumably will be staying with you for the other half anyway which will cost you.

Students always used to get less if they lived at home, is that no longer the case?

She can't claim the full amount if she stays at home... and yes they do check so she would have to refund it. Also she will miss out on uni life if home.
