Pulling out eyelashes

Hello, my daughter pulls out her eyelashes. As soon as they grow back she pulls them out. I think it is a subconscious thing now that begun as a nervous action. She always denies it and does it when she is alone. What shall I do? It is so noticeable and she is only 10. Many thanks.

My friends daughter does this, and eyebrows

I used to do it as a result of stress and anxiety.

I've done this since the age of 9 and still do it. Its called trichotillomania. I've never sought help, but you could see the gp?

My DD used to do this in her early teens, and I do it a bit now.
She grew out of it

I used to do it. Funnily enough it started when the adults in my life began a major campaign to make me stop thumbsucking and mostly ended around the time I discovered drugs and alcohol. Every so often even these days if I'm feeling very, very stressed and trapped I find I do it a little bit. And chew my tongue and peel bits of skin off my lips and fingers. Mostly it's under control though.

It's called trichotillomania. Maybe you could take her to/consult a doctor? I'd want to get treatment sooner rather than later, before she potentially moves onto pulling the hairs on her head.
