Bras - best places for 'difficult' teen sizes?

Dd's had a bit of a growth spurt and suddenly has boobs. We went to get her properly fitted at Peter Jones and it turns out she's a 30D (on the tightest hooks).

We picked up a couple of bras in the shop but there wasn't much choice in her size. She really needs a black one as well but we're struggling to find something. It needs to be non wired, not too lacy and not frumpy. A lot of ranges seem only to start at 32 and the teen ranges stop at a C cup.

Any pointers gratefully received

Id be really surprised if your 11 year old measured 40 around her rib cage

Nibbled - m&s first bras go to a 38

But I'd also be fairly surprised if she's a 38 or 40, I was a 38 at clothes size 22...

When you're saying sensory issues? Is it that she says they're too tight rather than her measuring that size? (My DS with AS wore shoes a size too big for years because he hated how the right size felt on him)

Does she need the support of a bra? Could you try a crop top style thing or sports bras?

I'm a 28DD and find panache and Fantasie v good ( expensive but good) and I also wear sister sized GAP bras and the non padded, non underworld crop top type things from gap in an M for when I want to be comfy x

We've tried crop tops but to fit her chest the straps are far too long. She doesn't like stuff too tight but a 36 is a serious stretch on her, She really does have a very wide back and shoulders! I'm a size 22 and a 38/40 band so was suprised too, she's big but not that big, just under 9 stone at 4 foot 11, (once again I realise this is serioously over weight for her age but she's lost a pound and gained three inched in 6 months and GP is involved). She has sensory processing disorder so finding the right thing is a nightmare :(

My SD (12) is a 30d, absolute nightmare to buy bras for.
Also be aware that m&s angel and adult sizes are different due to cup shape. In angel she needs a 30e(which I don't think they make!) but in adult a 30d, although straps are too long and need taking in.

She's so petite with massive boobs poor kid!

Bra companies really need to cop on to the fact they are not catering for the market. Loads of people I know are having problems with their teens.
DD is 12 and really needs a 26C. Best we're finding just now is a 30B from M&S but it won't work when she really needs more support (soon) as the back just is not tight enough.

Yes, SD would be better in a 28e but they're impossible to find without costing a fortune, I've also had my DD (also 12) measured today at a 30b.. that's fine in m&s, and I've bought her some but can't find that size in primark! (Wanting a couple of cheaper ones as 'spare')

a D cup without wire? are you mad? her breasts need the support!!!

Thingsiseeinmybathroom · 24/09/2017 10:23

Canderlings
SD has been measured in a couple of places and we have been advised to avoid underwire as she is not fully developed. A good non-wire bra can offer enough support.

Thingsiseeinmybathroom · 24/09/2017 10:25

And at 12 she has no need for the 'lifting and shaping' effects of a wire...

Maybe a sports bra might be the way to go?
