13yr Son bad skin

I'm hoping someone can help with skincare tips.

My son has recently turned 13 and puberty has hit. His skin is very oily with lots of black heads. He washes his face with a scrub every day but it doesn't seem to helping.

Does anyone has any tips on what to use? Recently tried the charcoal peel, took loads of blackheads out but seemed very harsh.

Thanks in advance

If he has spots, try Lush's Grease Lightning - it helps to 'dry out' the spots.

Chemical exfoliant (glycolic) is much more effective than manual (clarisonic). Cheaper too!

His spots are hormonal, they will have little to do with poor hygiene - scrubs are an irritant, be nice to the skin. Wash gently so as no not inflame it any more.
What's he diet like high sugar/high refined carbs can be problematic for the skin, along with diary products. Lots of nutrients needed too, especially good fats which contain skin friendly vitamins, fresh veg, protein.
Of course he's a teen so this route to good skin is rarely popular or particularly successful because they don't stick to it but less is better than more.

My ds (13) struggles with his skin and spots, especially blackheads. I bought some teen vitamins to help with his concentration and his skin has also improved dramatically. He refuses to wash his face as he hates the water (He has asd) but since taking these Haliborange teen it's a lot clearer.

My DD 14 uses Duac from the GP and her skin is so much better, some days she has not one spot.
