Reasonable time for a 16 yo to get home at night

Neither DH or I had normal childhoods, so we struggle to know what is normal at different stages of our DCs upbringing. DD is 16 and in Y12. What is a reasonable time to make her get home at night? Thanks for any advice.

No but you do have college club nights and fake ID

Don't think that's a year 11 thing, certainly a sixth form thing though.

For us it wasnt so much a time thing as a 'knowing where they are thing'. At 16 things change and you need to let them go and learn how to be responsible adults. Our rule for our three was for them to always tell the truth abouth where they were and who they were with. As long as they kept in touch we were happy to let them go. It's not easy. I know some of our DD's friends used to lie to their parents about what they were doing but giving our kids the freedom to decide the rules for themselves worked. They never overstepped the boundaries and have always been open with us - due I think to the fact that we let them decide take responsibility for themselves. If you trust your DC then I recommend this is the way to go.

Dd (year 10) went on a school trip abroad to attend a conference & the organisers hired a nightclub for a party that ended at midnight!

On the whole I would say that dd would need to be home by 9pm if just hanging around with friends but for a specific event whenever itsdue to finish. She performs so I've been used to collecting her from theatre performances and rehearsals from an early age.

In what way? My year 10 (age14)if out on a Sat night I like her to be home by 12 just cos one of us needs to stay up or pick up. If she sleeps over it's preferable. She doesn't go out that much anyway tbh!
Midweek there is no going out really.

9pm hanging with friends on a school night. (9.30 extension if really needed)

11 pick up if at the local CLUB - not a drinking place - a music/open mic type place that serves milkshakes and has board games etc. Hip amongst the teens right now...

midnight if at a party - weekends only.
