He's had 6 lessons and the instructor has agreed it would be a good idea. Get some practice in. (Gulp)

So. I have been told about Marmalade for insurance. Anyone got any suggestions of others or who to avoid etc?

TIA

We always used to be with Direct Line but got a much better deal for ds with Admiral so ended up taking a multi car policy with them.

DS (17) passed his test a few months ago and Direct Line wanted £140 pcm. Admiral wanted £100 pcm. Interestingly that was actually reduced slightly when we added his brother to the policy (still trying to pass his test ...)

Marmalade all the way here!

I find that we have increased our expenditure on gin though...as I need a few once home!

Having 2 dc who have both passed their tests in the last 4 months - and then it opened out into conversations with nieces and nephews and boyfriends / girlfriends - they all agreed how different their instructors cars were, from the (numerous different) cars they then drove after passing. General opinion was that they had to spend time learning to drive our cars after they'd passed, as they were so different.
Just saying, as I'm not sure how much help it actually is for them to go out with a nervous parent until after they've passed.

We used marmalade too whilst he was learning. Once he passed we went with InsuretheBox. Although the car is mine he drives it most so I had to put him on as the main driver with me and dh as named drivers, it's very expensive but they were the cheapest of all the horrendous quotes. Fitted with a telematic box which means on the rare occasions dh and I drive it we have to be careful with speed limits (sometimes think it would be good if we all had to have a telematic box in our cars!) but I can also see how he has been driving which is reassuring. He has done pass plus very recently so I was hoping it may make a difference at renewal?
