DD binge eating and depressed

My 15 yr old DD is suffering from BED. She is not overweight but has put on weight in recent months. She used to run in competitions, but now she has stopped growing and her peers are literally overtaking her, so she doesn't want to run any more. All she wants is to lose weight (her words) and this has taken over all her thinking. Over the last few weeks she has retreated into herself, and the first week of the school holidays she has spent mostly in her room. When she comes downstairs, she just sits staring into space, not speaking, or, crying.
She has had a few sessions with a counsellor, but it doesn't seem to have helped (mainly because she didn't tell the counsellor the things she tells me). We've seen the doctor and got a referral for CAMHS, and I'm looking for a different kind of counsellor/therapist.
My question is - how do I handle this on a day to day basis? For instance, DD has asked me to lock the food cupboard doors and to hide any 'bad' foods, so she can't binge.
It's impacting on all of us, especially DS (12) who doesn't understand what's going on, is stick thin, tall, and eats like a horse.
Any thoughts?

I would google eating disorder groups and call and speak to them.
We have had our dd go through this we found out she was looking at a website
Called pro Anna which encourages to lose weight not eat.
I would talk to the school incase she is being bullied
Check on her social media especially
Tumblr that was absolutely awful. We have banned this and also the pro Anna.
Feel free to pm me We are through the other side of this well not as bad as it what it was. All your describing I know what you mean.
We weighed dd
We got her to have the main meals and watch her
We got her to choose her meals / food. Which helped
Talked her through a healthy eating fitness plan and discussed with her what she wanted to change
Really feel for you and know what your going through. Flowers

I copied this from another thread. The place to call is BEAT i know your dd isn't binge eating but they hopefully will be able to help with her wanting to lose weight.

I forgot to say I would also ask your GP to refer her to the early intervention eating disorders group xx

I suffered severely with bulimia, so have some insight into this. The biggest thing that will help your dd is a regular meal plan, with enough nutrients to meet her needs. Restriction is one of the biggest triggers for binging, plan in treats and things she likes so she doesn't feel deprived and end up binging.
I understand the desire to remove temptation I really do and this is how things are in inpatient units but it does make it difficult in the family home so I'd try tight routine first.
The other thing I would say would be keep your eyes peeled for signs of purging, it often starts after a period of binging.

Hi all. DD is now being seen by CAMHS (including a dietician) and I'm very hopeful. We have other issues going on as well, and I've started a thread in relationships about DD and DP.
