And I don't know how to fix it! We have the windows open whenever we are home, he showers every day and we change his bedding every week. Any tips please??

I don't know but I have 17 year old daughter who's room honks. We have bought a new mattress for her this weekend in the hope it was just that. She is lovely and clean but did go through a grungy 15 year old stage so I'm in hope that the smell is historic and the mattress will sort it.

I did read that young men smell offensive to their mothers so there is never any chance of inter family breeding, you know back in the day we knew no better.

Is his packed lunch from 3 months ago under his bed?

Where are his trainers and how old are they?

It's none of those thinks unfortunately, it's the like the smell of body. Thinking of getting some kind of odour neutraliser, see if that works!

Wash the duvet. Wash or throw away the pillows. They will be skanky.
Clean the carpet.
At worst, redecorate!

It's sweaty feet. When my ds has his friends in his bedroom the entire house stinks.

Is he using an anti perspirant? (Not deodorant!)
Changing underwear. All dirty clothes in laundry.

Does he leave his duvet pulled back for a while in the morning? 30 mins of the duvet off lets some of the sweat that's been produced in the night evaporate off and not linger.

Does he open his curtains to let light get at his bed? UV is great for cleaning so curtains open in the daytime is the rule here, no matter if you are a teen or not!

Are all worn clothes disposed of into a laundry basket that either isn't in his room or that has a lid to keep in smells until the clothes are removed for cleaning?

Duvets should be washed every few months as well as the covers weekly.

It's his feet. His socks and shoes will smell like dead bodies with burned hair, covered in sick.

I have the exact same problem, it is sweat and he showers every day. I asked him to sleep with a t-shirt on to absorb the sweat so the bedding doesn't stink immediately after changing it but apparently I am unreasonable.

No idea what to do except opening the window and changing bedding often.

i am not convinced it is sweat- i think they go through a phase of just ..stinking. I don't know what it is-whether it's hormones or what but ...shudder.

Yes my 17yr old is the same. He showers and washes his hair daily, wears clean clothes and antiperspirant, the bedclothes are changed weekly, the windows open all day and his room still honks. But my God when his friends are all over, the smell magnifies by a thousand! I am living in hope that it will pass as he gets older!

Light a candle and burn it all day - surprisingly effective.

Odour eaters for trainers/ shoes

Check coats/ hoodies etc in case they're 'ripe.'

Damp dust every wipeable surface.

My teen honks and I do know he's clearly found what wanking can do! Tissues and boxers stuffed in all kinds of places.

His teen friend is over and says he can't even smell it 😷🤐

Burn incense ( Nag Champa is particularly heavy and will mask the smell of a rotting corpse)
Take comfort from the fact it will pass

Do you have a carpet in the room? I did as a teen and it got very stinky.

My stepson's room STANK. We scrubbed EVERYTHING many many times, cleaned carpet, replaced mattress, left bowl of bleach in corner to absorb smell, bicarb, disinfectant, left windows open. All that helped was more scrubbing, the passing of time and nag champa incense. Marigolds at the ready
