house party rules for 15 yr old dd

brimfull · 24/12/2006 00:33

She's having a birthdya party on NYE (her b'day).
She wants to invite around 25 of her friends, male and female.

She has told me that inevitably some will want to bring alcohol.

We obv don't want them all getting rat arsed and puking up every where.
We will be spending the evening with friends a 1minute walk away, and will be checking up on them very regularly.

Dd has only ever had a few drinks at a party ,never been drunk.

It is a strictly invite only party and dh will deal with any uninvited.

Any other rules I should put in place?

upstairs is out of bounds at all costs.

monitor how much drink actually comes into the houswe

no touching your alcohol or condoms

get 3 or 4 of them to agree to come back next day to help clean up esp if theres vomit around

jampots · 24/12/2006 00:35

happy birthday though

brimfull · 24/12/2006 00:38

thanks,
I will hide our alcohol,

yes have said no going upstairs, perish the thought>>shudder>>.

dd has phobia of vomit so have warned her she'll have to clear it up if there is any. It's actually putting her off drinking.

excellent

im sure they'll be fine though

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 24/12/2006 00:43

definitely lock away any alcohol you don't want them to drink. likewise with anything valuable that could get broken.

also a no smoking rule in the house rule - you don't want to come back to firemen hosing down your house as fun as it would be to see some

brimfull · 24/12/2006 00:45

yes ,no smoking, although don't think any of them smoke, but who am I to know??

firsttimemama · 24/12/2006 05:53

out of a crowd of 25 there is sure to be some smokers (possibly 24!) If they're her year group at school some may even be legal smokers.

Furball · 24/12/2006 06:48

Make a huge 'fruit punch' so hopefully they'll drink more of that than anything else. - maybe rumour that you've put alcohol in it as well? so they only think they are drinking.

Watch the freezer...in my dim dark teenage past...clearly remember someone throwing up in a chest freezer.....

juuule · 24/12/2006 15:28

15yo, 25 friends, alcohol, party, parents out. Oh my, you're far braver than I am. Best of luck and hope it all goes really well. Merry Christmas

themoon66 · 24/12/2006 23:08

God I remember some cracking parties when I was around 15. Wow you are brave allowing that in your house. Respect ggirl!

3littlefrogs · 25/12/2006 18:16

15 yr old girls are notorious for bringing small bottles of vodka concealed in their handbags.

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 25/12/2006 20:45

well im sure one miniature bottle isn't going to do much which is a good job cos you can't really do a bag search! unless you say you are trying to make the party as authentic as possible by doing what they do in nughtlcubs

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 25/12/2006 20:45

oh i would also say if you can lock bedroom doors upstairs then do!

brimfull · 25/12/2006 23:26

ok you're scaring me now with talk of locking the bedroom doors
why did I say yes???????????

OP posts:
WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 26/12/2006 00:35

it'll be fine .. but can you?you know just in case.

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 26/12/2006 00:36

oh and if you have got a garage/shed where couples could hide i'd lock them and hide the keys too! its only 3 years since i was 15 so i know what happens at some of the partys!

winnie · 27/12/2006 19:13

Having been in my own house whilst my dd held her (relatively small) 16th birthday party I was very shocked to find two teenagers having sex on my kitchen floor! So, although I don't want to scare you - be prepared. Good Luck

brimfull · 27/12/2006 23:01

OMG winnie,I'm really dreading this now.Personally as long as it's not my dd and it's concentual ...

OP posts:
WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 28/12/2006 02:46

gosh winnie they must have been very drunk. i can't imagine anyone doing that with parents around!!

unless maybe they could sneak outside ... but in december highly unlikely!

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 28/12/2006 02:48

tbh i would just go wit the whole no matter how much you try and stop them from getting drunk and having sex, if they are determined to do it they will. i think i have already said this once tonight lol.

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr, I think your point "no matter how much you try and stop them from getting drunk and having sex, if they are determined to do it they will" was basically what I was trying to say.

ggirl, in all honesty I think you are doing a great thing. You are showing your dd a lot of trust; that is great for her. You are doing everything to manage the situation. Good for you. I have a feeling after this scary friend and your now low expectations it can only be better than expected

winnie · 28/12/2006 08:37

friend? Obviously I meant thread!
