16 year old daughter has had tongue pierced

Without my knowledge. She knew I wouldn't be happy. They shouldn't be able to have it done with out parental consent but I've had a look at the legal side and appently they can.

I had my eyebrow pierced when I was 16, my boyfriend of the time had his lip done

Meh, I took it out after a few month, it never healed properly and the last I heard he was a Chartered surveyor - it clearly never ruined either of our lives

Ahh Summerwood, I've been there with my DD. She'd already done her belly button and various bits of ears. I told her I didn't like the tongue, but didn't make a big thing of it. You couldn't see it tbh. She took it out a few months later. Then had her nose done (DH didn't speak to her for about a week over that one! Not good). Again, I said I wasn't keen but no biggie. She still has the nose ring. She's 18 in three months and has chosen her tattoo. Here we go again! I really don't want her to have a tattoo, but it's her body, and there are a lot of reassuring posts on here.
