How much do you charge in the way of digs?

My son is almost 17, possibility of a full time job. How much is ok for digs? I didn't pay any when I was young (over generous parents) so I have no idea. Is it a percentage of pay? What's acceptable?

My parents asked that we gave them 1/3, saved 1/3, and then could spend 1/3. In reality, we gave them a 1/3 and spent 2/3 Grin

In England you have to be in some kind of education, training or apprenticeship until your 18th birthday, other parts of UK are different.

Dos is 19 and has been working for 3 years.
We don't 'charge' him anything.

He helps round the house if needed nd will give his brother a lift to places if we are not round but I wouldn't dream of asking him for money.
