DS1(17) is looking for a weekend/holiday job. He has applied for a few and has handed in his CV to shops but so far, no luck.

What else could he do?

What's the youngest age your teens worked at? DS is 15.

Mine did a weekly paper round when 13 (well, I think ds was 15 when he started and dd was 15).

16 before they cold get anything else - well, that said, dd did some paid babysitting when she was 15

Actually you're right - some places paid much better than others and they both moved around if they were offered better pay. They started at the local council run leisure centres then one went on to David Lloyd. It was a while ago I'd forgotten that!

Mine got paper rounds at 13. My ds2 has just turned 16 and is in the sixth form. He has just landed a job cleaning at his school. He had to fill out an appication form and go for a proper interview.

My dd started working at a kennel at age 13 cleaning dog runs, filling food dishes and walking the calmer dogs. She was lucky though, she was hired by a friend who owns the business. My dd's step mother is a well known breeder and has taken her to dog shoes since was little, so dd has lots of dog handling experience.
