...for a MFL controlled assessment on Tuesday. He has had two weeks off school and goes back tomorrow.

This is what he has done so far:

  1. Tidied his room.
  2. Sung every song he knows (and some he doesn't) at top volume.
  3. Made himself a cup of coffee.
  4. Remembered that he doesn't like coffee.
  5. Made himself some peppermint tea.

Can't wait for Year 11. Hmm

DS invited a friend over "to help with physics revision" - friend has been here since 11 30 and so far I have heard a lot of laughter and the sound of shooting and explosions - DS's physics books remain in the kitchen, the boys are holed up in his bedroom with the PS4

He has gone very quiet. I think he might have fallen asleep.

Have you heard of Prochaska's stages of change? They are on it somewhere.

Wow. He's either bright Smile or left it way too late Sad .

DD1 y11 is doing 2 MFLs. For each CA she starts learning them a week - 10 days beforehand, building up one small section per day, adding a new one each evening, and running through all she's done so far morning and evening with me. The last one of 8 is on Tuesday.

DS1 has spent the whole day revising except for-

Watching a football match
Annoying DS2 and is mates
Moaning about revising
Googling his imaginary ailments
Moaning about revising some more
Foraging for food in the fridge
Playing PS4 online and SHOUTING down the mike.

He was originally planning to learn one section each weekday during the past week, leaving the weekend for practice. What actually happened was that he learnt the first section and part of the second and then gave up, leaving the rest to today.

I tested him before dinner and he seemed to be fluent on some questions, but needed prompting with others.

I came home today at lunchtime to find DS under a duvet on the sofa watching Breaking Bad. Apparently he is bored of revision Angry

He did do 2 practise papers this afternoon. Thankfully he is back to school on Weds but then there's exam leave
