I am tearing my hair out. Hate shopping which is the first major obstacle. Prefer it to be quick and painless and preferably online. my son is slim but doesn't like slim fit jeans. Not into brand names but Gap only goes up to 13 and can rarely find anything big enough as he is really a size 14 and if I dress him in Next and H&M he often runs into 3 year olds in the same coat as him as they make the same clothes for teens and tots. So where do you go? Please help meSad

Have a look at Esprit.co.uk. Free delivery and' more importantly, free returns.

Primark? At least it's cheap if you make a mistake.

ShebaQueen · 15/03/2015 15:08

My son wears quite a lot of stuff from Debenhams. They have their own brand, Blue Zoo which is reasonably priced, as well as pricier stuff from Jasper Conran and John Rocha etc. They go up to age 16.

Artandco · 15/03/2015 15:31

John Lewis is quite good for basics I think

Travelledtheworld · 15/03/2015 16:04

I and the same problem when my son was 12 too big for Children clothes and not big enough for adult sizes. M&S do good teenagers clothes up to age 16 in their Autograph range, though you may have to buy online.

And yes Debenhams are good value.

Takver · 15/03/2015 16:06

Have you tried the Johnnie B stuff from Boden - not rock bottom prices, but their girls' stuff at least wears very well, and is a bit more 'grown up' looking without being high fashion.

It's where I used to get dd non-skinny fit jeans before she finally caved in! (She has the girls' equivalent to these )

thelittlebooktroll · 15/03/2015 16:13

Yes Takver I do shop from Johnnie B and I shop from Abercrombie as I quite like their clothes. Until now I have been relying on Gap a lot, but he has outgrown it. Cannot believe shops like Gap and Next do not focus more on teens. Surely that's quite a big market? I am currently trying to find a spring jacket online which seems quite a challenge for a Sunday.

Might try Debenhams and Marks too

I think La Redoute (catalogue/online) do teenage boys' clothes, but a different range from what they offer for little boys. Their clothes tend to be quite slim fitting, but unless your son is small for his age you may well find you need to order one age group higher than his actual age.

WotNoLoobrush · 15/03/2015 16:30

Try H&M. Good for young teens in my experience.

BeautifulPain · 15/03/2015 16:33

Debenhams and Bhs, just got my 13 year old a spring jacket in bhs.

BeautifulPain · 15/03/2015 16:37

Can also get some bits in new look men's t-shirts mainly but some are bigger than others so have to try them on. They do xs.

FastForward2 · 15/03/2015 16:38

My local M and S was useless for teenager, nothing below S in adult. We went to Burton this afternoon and found some trousers and shirt. I also hate shopping so does he

thelittlebooktroll · 15/03/2015 16:39

What's the sizes in BhS like?

Slim fit trackies from Tescos - skinny ds lives in them and they look smartish teamed up with trainers and tshirts. For really special occasions (lunch out with grandparents) he suffers a pair of slim fit blue-black hole free jeans from Gap which we keep hanging up and otherwise untouched in his wardrobe Grin

Jinglebells99 · 15/03/2015 16:41

Top man does clothes in xs which fit my very slim 15 year old and they have short fittings too.

Georgethesecond · 15/03/2015 16:41

Zara and H and M

Maria33 · 15/03/2015 16:42

Zalando on line has a good selection for this age.

Georgethesecond · 15/03/2015 16:42

How tall is he? Once they hit about 5'4" you can go to Top Man

Morgan · 15/03/2015 16:45

River Island do small and extra small too - good for teenagers and small at primark also good Smile

Rivercam · 15/03/2015 16:50

Look at m and s on line - sizes go up to 16 years.

M and m direct is quite good - do a range of clothing brands

Tk Max is another option

Next online has larger children's sizes than shops. Some men's next trousers come in 26 waist also.

I bought ds size s men's for my tall 13 year old.

LadySybilLikesSloeGin · 15/03/2015 16:52

Next do teenage boy clothes but only online. I buy ds's (he's 15 but 5'2") from Boden but mostly in the sale as they are expensive, likewise with Jack Wills (sale) and a few bits from Burton. Fat Face is OK (in the sale) and the XXS men's fit your average teenage boy.

Justusemyname · 15/03/2015 16:55

I feel your pain. My 13 year old is in aged 17 in some clothes and that's as high as shops go in kids wear and that's only BHS locally. One shop sells trousers small enough for his skinny waist but with look here on boxers and slogans about beer on tits on t-shirts it's not where I want to kit him out from.

LadySybilLikesSloeGin · 15/03/2015 16:58

'Beer and tits on t-shirts'... careful what you buy from Burtons.

BeautifulPain · 15/03/2015 17:00

They go up to 15-16 years in bhs my son is tall but slim and I get him 14 years in jeans, it's not a massive selection but it's good for jeans and I got him a spring jacket in there.
