How do you learn not to take it all personally?

When dd does not want to spend any time whatsoever with her family. Goes from her room to the kitchen and out the door. When she cannot see that she is hurting you and pushes you away when you try to get close. When she has barely spoken a sentence to her dad in the past 2 months all because she is given boundaries.

When did she become so uncaring and unaware of the upset she is causing. It makes me wonder if she has any feelings for us at all.

I have been told not to take it all so personally but it is breaking me that the person I love so much could be like this. And she just cant see it.

Sorry. Just having a moment and a rant :(

I know just how you feel. I am totally worn down as well. We had a massive blow up this evening and now I am in my room too tired to even cry. My dd is so mean in the things she says. I cannot not take it personally. I know people say don't but I haven't worked out how not to be affected by it either. Her brothers although hard to get up in the morning, won't do jobs around the house etc they just don't have her nasty streak. I don't have any advice whatsoever all I can say is I know how you feel. You are not alone in feeling this way.

As we cant seem to have a conversation without DD getting annoyed. Might it be a good idea to write it all down on paper and give it to her. I dont want to have a go at her but just want to get my point of view over as to why I am concerned that she is not getting enough sleep, schoolwork etc. I will have to be very careful though about how I word it. Or should I just do nothing and let her get on with it in case I make things worse.

The atmosphere is our home is still horrible. Sometimes when I pop my head in her room and ask/say something to her, just the look on her face makes me so upset.
