Any suggestions? Mostly girls but a couple of boys. Nothing scary as it's a camping sleepover Grin

Legally Blonde? I think it's a 12.

TourGuideBarbie · 25/02/2015 09:25

13 going on 30... Better for girls than boys though Wink

nequidnimis · 25/02/2015 16:56

The Woman in Black is a 12 cert. It's scary but camping's no fun unless you're scared to put the lamp offSmile

curlyhair500 · 25/02/2015 17:04

Why dont you ask the kids for some suggestions and then you can decide whether you think they are suitable :)

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2015 17:17

Pitch Perfect

Takver · 25/02/2015 17:24

I've asked dd, and not got anywhere beyond 'something like Jupiter Ascending' - which isn't out on dvd and which we saw last weekend at the cinema [unhelpful child emoticon]

Pitch perfect looks interesting - make a change for dd to watch something that doesn't involve teenage girls killing people Grin

nequidnimis - I got my fingers burnt at the last camping extravaganza when I had two hysterical girls at 11.30pm winding each other up into fits of crying . . . . (fortunately neither are on the guest list this time!)

Mean Girls. Most teenagers I know love that film.

Takver · 25/02/2015 19:49

Silly question (I've never seen it), but is Mean Girls going to get rejected as too girly?

What about something like the Hunger Games?

Takver · 26/02/2015 12:15

Sadly they watched Hunger Games last year, and we've recently seen Divergent.

I'm trying to think of something like Jupiter Ascending...

Guardians of the Galaxy?
I am Number Four?
Fifth Element?
Ender's Game?
Any of the X Men movies?
Avatar?

Takver · 26/02/2015 16:31

That's a really good list, nequidnimis, thank you, lots of good ideas there. I'll run them past dd :)

What about Maze runner? I've just bought it for my soon to be 13 dd's birthday. If Hunger games and divergent were a hit, I think it's similar.

Mercedes · 27/02/2015 21:47

Pitch Perfect went down really well at my DD's 13th. They sang along with all the songs and had cups ready for the cup song.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 27/02/2015 21:52

Go retro ?
Top Gun
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Buellers Day Off
The Outsiders

Tryharder · 28/02/2015 16:21

Dirty Dancing?
Ghost?

But agree that Pitch Perfect is fab.

Faez · 28/02/2015 16:25

Mean girls is not too girly! Mean girls 2 on the other hand is a girly pile of shite and has no relation to the original.

Merrylegs · 28/02/2015 16:31

Yes to Enders Game and Maze Runner - or Super8 is good.

ragged · 28/02/2015 17:22

Hunger games is scary. Confused

DD thinks she had Grease for her 13th (bit sexy!)
My first thought was Legally Blonde, too.
Warm Bodies has just a bit of scary in it.

monkeyfacegrace · 28/02/2015 17:25

Go old skool and get the run of Final Destination films!

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2015 17:32

Nothing scary was the brief mfg. I think they are a 15 cert too.

Takver · 28/02/2015 17:51

So far dd's favourite from the suggestions is Avatar. (I guess Hunger Games / Maze Runner / Divergent and the like are ok because they've all read the books so know what happens? Last year's party also didn't involve a sleepover Grin )

OP posts:
monkeyfacegrace · 28/02/2015 17:52

Oh I thought they were a 12. I thought they were more comedy than scary too. Certainly less scary than Hunger Games!

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2015 17:53

Yes, they are a bit comedy scary Grin Depends on the child I think.

lemonhope · 05/03/2015 10:19

final destination films are VERY gory!

my 13 year old would hate them

Mean Girls
Legally Blonde
St Trinians
Wild Child
