My ds 16 needs new jacket, jeans a couple shirts. He is not interested in clothes that much. I have two younger teens that get their own stuff themselves, but I wanted to know what shops are good for a 16 year old. I don't want to buy cheap clothes (primark, supermarket) because they are a false economy but also don't want to fork out for stuff that he could grow out of quickly.

Yes agree with tilliebob about Asda for jeans. Great value for money and look good too.

DS's have stuff from Top Man, Zara, H&M, Next and RI. I pick them up second hand stuff when I see it and think they'll like it and am rarely wrong Grin

Mine has developed a taste for Pretty Green and Ralph Lauren Polo Hmm

No idea if either are cool. Most of his stuff comes from H&M though, and he loves novelty t-shirts.

MassaAttack DS1 has an obsession with Ralph Lauren too! Luckily he has a job so we don't have to pay for it.
DS2 wears mainly Jack Wills as do a lot of his friends as well as Superdry. In terms of what we buy him it normally comes from Next (DS1's staff discount!).

My dd who are 13 &15 need a formal dress for a wedding. I have found some dresses in Debenhams, Marks & Spencer and few other shops. I can not seem to find any that fits their chest and waist together. My other option is to the alter the dresses. Please can anyone give me an idea on what shop to go to?

TinklyLittleLaugh · 20/04/2015 17:17

I am oh so glad that none of my four have ever got into labels.

ChillySundays · 20/04/2015 17:27

Anike99 Are you looking at similar styles of dresses? In which case try different styles. I wouldn't rule out some of the cheaper shops like Primark and Matalan as the fit may be different.

The other option is to look at tops and skirts with a pretty cardigan. May get more use out the outfit afterwards
