Inspire me please, I have many older teenage boys to buy pressies for and literally NO clue! (Teen DDs here so girls are easy)
Previously over the years have got them all ...T-shirts from Top shop and when they were 13 or so tops from Jack Wills and Hollister ( there seems to be theme going on) and super dry beanies.

Please, please give me some ideas!

microsoft points from game

NoelleHawthorne · 15/12/2014 08:03

cash cash cash, they will love you

cathyandclaire · 15/12/2014 08:23

Aaaghh, cash, as I feared! I always tend to avoid that because it's so obvious what you've spent and I try and get good deals, buy on holidays, use voucher codes so you get more for less IYSWIM.
But I know you're all right! I like the book and cash idea... this looked funny/useful for older teens embarking on college/manhood...what do you think? Or is it dull and annoying? Man up

who knows?> looks typical of the genre

NoelleHawthorne · 15/12/2014 08:32

they wont appreciate the hassle of voucher codes as much as the cash.

VivaLeBeaver · 15/12/2014 08:37

Smart phone tech gloves?

PulpsNotFiction · 15/12/2014 08:41

A onesie. Mine slob about in theirs in the holidays while attached to Xbox.

NoelleHawthorne · 15/12/2014 08:59

no no not o a onesie

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 15/12/2014 09:01

DSs christmas list includes a Stussy t shirt so that might be an option. I've not tracked one down yet so I'm not 100% sure of the cost though!

Madamecastafiore · 15/12/2014 09:02

iTunes card or,Xbox credit things.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 15/12/2014 09:03

They're more than £25 it seems so ignore me!

SecretSquirrels · 15/12/2014 09:57

Do you know anything about their interests?
A geeky calendar like one of these?
Shot glasses and something to go in them if over 18.

No to vouchers. They get left in a drawer or their mum buys them off them for cash.mug

ssd · 15/12/2014 09:59

onesie for sure

I buy the vouchers too SS!! and they usually end up getting a good deal on them too....

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 15/12/2014 10:20

Neither of my teen boys would wear a onsie so it's not a sure fire winner. They do like "fluffy pyjamas" to lounge in though.

NoelleHawthorne · 15/12/2014 11:11

Sadly I dont know any teens who pay For music- maybe apps

SecretSquirrels · 15/12/2014 11:45

Mine pay for music. They listen to Youtube in the house but pay for digital. In fact they tend to buy CDs for the car horrible bass stuff to make the sub woofer vibrate.
I'd avoid onsie's as they are marmite. DS2 loves his but DS1 loathes them.

Actually the best gift I got for DS1 was a power pack, cost me £30 but they have gone down to £15. This one is lovely looking and holds hours of power which is useful on long journey's with battery draining smartphones. I've bought several as gifts since.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 15/12/2014 11:53

Oh yes! A power pack. DS2 keeps stealing mine so when I want it it is always missing or flat. Unsurprisingly he is getting one for Christmas.

Claybury · 15/12/2014 12:49

Head phones, Nike handbag shoulder bag, Deisel after shave spray, designer boxers, iTunes vouchers

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 15/12/2014 12:53

Over past few years have bought:
iTunes vouchers (they get used)
Nike Hoodies / joggers
Tools: credit card tool, fire steel etc (they are quite outdoorsy)
Sweets
Superdry t-shirts
Trapper hats
Cash

chocoluvva · 15/12/2014 15:36

Perhaps too off the wall, but just in case - a lava lamp?

If they play guitar (well, they might) zazzle do t-shirts with customisable designs. (DS wore one with plectrums on it - quite subtle)

Cook book?

Playing cards.

Mug.

Raw popcorn. Sweets. Lentil soup making kit - hand held stick it straight into the pot blender, packet of lentils, stock cubes, carrot and onion 'presented' as a kit in a shoebox.

chocoluvva · 15/12/2014 15:37

Poker chips and cards?

Ragwort · 15/12/2014 15:47

Cash.

I would love to give my teenage son a lentil soup making kit but I can just imagine his face when he opens it Grin.

chocoluvva · 15/12/2014 15:52

Curry making kit? - more macho Grin

NorksEnormous · 15/12/2014 16:02

My brother is 16, I can imagine his face at a lentil soup making kit too! Grin

Also, he would hate a onesie. I have bought him a guitar plectrum maker!
