Just interested to know if anyone else finds it really difficult to not get emotionally caught up in their D problems.
I feel that any friendship / boyfriend etc problems effect me as bad or even worse than they effect her.
It really gets on my nerves that I can't step back from it.
Does any one else feel like that or have tips on how to have more perspective.

arlagirl: How did she develop resilience and coping skills? Or did they just come with age?

Age had a lot to do with it . She had no therapy after 14, kept all her anxieties hidden at school. She is a very determined girl..has had to focus so hard to get exam results as her ocd makes it difficult to concentrate.
She finally went on medication 4 months ago...huge difference to coping.
She had horrendous friendship issues from yr 5 to end of yr 10 . Not one sided..she was very difficult to be with

Its really difficult you have my sympathies its like being a teenager again yourself.I have had many a sleepless night of some drama or another.Usually start small but with social media turns into some huge pick sides isolate DD stir it up every 5 minutes. Then when DD is in favour its someone elses turn to be harassed by queen bee. DD is 14 also and although things still occasionally turbulent def settled from last year when it was daily.Your DD like mine doesn't have the confidence to shrug it off and gets so absorbed its hard not to get absorbed but I like to hope DD doesn't know that I try and say the right thing whilst imagining some of these girls getting their commupence with an evil grin spreading!
