ID card for over 18?

dd1 is about to turn 18. She's not bothered about learning to drive, so hasn't got a provisional licence. We're both a bit worried about her taking her passport out and about with her! Is it worth getting any of the other ID cards on offer, or should I just cough up the 50 quid for a provisional licence?

Lots of place will only except the official ID. I would get the driving license.

A citizen's card would be good for pubs and clubs etc. A lot cheaper.

Provisional license will be a lot less hassle for her - no need to argue with anyone over what it is or if it's on their list because they all know what one looks like.

DS s friend has just turned 18. He doesn't have a driving licence as he is not going to drive due to health issues. He has got a Citizens card to prevent carrying his passport and losing it

Driving licence. Universally accepted.

Citizens cards are not accepted everywhere. DD2 had trouble getting into a night club with one. Although that was a few years ago so it might be better now.
