Prom dress disaster

Am a regular poster here, but have name changed for this because I don't want the company concerned to have access to my posting history.

So, dd's prom tonight. Feeling very Sad as she's gone off wearing a dress looks fab from the front but a complete dog's dinner from the back. It was ordered online and was supposed to be made to measure, but when it arrived last week it was immediately obvious it was made to the wrong flipping measurements and was 3 inches too small around the bust.

The company we got it from was sexyher.co.uk - just wanted to put it on here, because I know they're quite often recommended on prom dress threads (which is how I heard of them) It goes without saying that their dressmaking is a bit hit and miss (though the dress itself is lovely) but their customer service is truly shocking. I feel really gutted for dd. We ended up having to get the dress altered as there was no time to get a replacement, and in all honesty, it looks a bit of a mess. (They wouldn't cover the cost of alteration either.)

I guess it's only one evening and in the grand scheme of things it hardly matters, but it's chuffing annoying. And a bit stupidly upsetting. I hope she's having a nice time, in spite of her botched up dress - and that any mner who searches for 'prom dress' in future years will come across this thread and think twice about ordering from sexy stupid her.

(Sniff.)

Oh dear. Hope she enjoyed herself anyway. We had a bit of a disaster with dd1's dress a few years ago, which was a vintage one we bought on ebay, but which was quite badly stained when it arrived. The seller was nice about it though, and refunded half of the money. There's such a lot of pressure on the whole prom thing these days; it was all so much simpler back when we left school with no ceremony at all!
