14yo DD wants to ombré her hair for her 15th birthday?

DD has lovely, 17 inch hair, naturally dark blonde hair, dyed brown. She wants to ombré it for her birthday, which would be free at her aunt's hair salon. However I am worried about whether it goes wrong. She wants around 4 inches dyed blond, but she is worried about whether it will all be in a straight line. Unsure as to whether to let her or not, need other opinions before I decide. Her school should allow it, other girls have it.

If it is being done at a salon then I'm sure they know how to do it well. Worst case, it's only hair, it can be cut if it doesn't work out.

Let her do it! Ombre is fun and she can have it lopped off if it's a disaster. Doing horrible things to your hair and having to cut it off is an essential rite of passage Grin

let her do it.

an ombre is not meant to be in a straight line. she needs to be confident that her aunt can do it properly.

sounds like she has gorgeous hair!

Let her do it. Like rootypig said, it's a rite of passage.
You might have to practise your reaction in a mirror......"Wow! That looks great!"........"Amazing...it looks amazing...." And so on. Regardless of how you actually feel! Of course, if you want to be really sincere, you should go out and get yours done straight after.....

If its done in a salon it should be fine. Have a look at pininterest they have some lovely pictures on there.

It's dyed already so you don't seem to have a problem in principle.
At a salon should be fine but if not - or she hates it - then it can be cut off!
As said above bad hair choices are a rite of passage.
It's low risk. Could be tattoos!
Let it go.
