bereaved and losing weight

I have a relative who is in her late teens, living away from home and studying dance. She continued to live away and prepare for her end of term performance this time last year while her mum was dying. She came home for the last few days. Her principal called her in to suggest that if she was dieting, she really should stop now. She was not dieting. This is as much as I know. Her dad is also coping with the loss of his wife, and feeling painfully that he can't provide the kind of motherly support that his daughter clearly needs. There is a slightly older sister, who is torn between being a mother figure and big sister, and finding the role very difficult.

What we want to know is, is there a site like mumsnet that the dad (or either daughter) could go to where they would get the kind of support that I have relied on during difficult times?

sorry, I've messed up the timeline. Mum died last year. The principal noticed the weightloss in the past few weeks (i.e. a year after Mum died)

Fisil - sorry I don't have any advice but didn't want your post to go unanswered.

I have an online friend who recently lost her daughter and has lost a lot of weight. She herself acknowledges that it's a control thing - the stuff relating to the bereavement was/is so out of her control that she just needed to take a bit back IYSWIM.

The Winstons Wish website is really for younger children I think, but it does have a parents page and a helpline. Maybe they could signpost them on to somewhere else. Or perhaps Cruse can help.

thanks - I have passed those two links on.
