A while ago DD1(14) really seemed to come of her Kevin stage and we started to get closer. Over the past week she seems to have reverted back and the only person she has a civil word for his her Dad.

She is constantly calling her sister names and making fun of her, even when her sister does nothing to provoke a reaction.

As for me, whatever I say or ask her to do is met with mouth, attitude, sarcasm, rolling eyes, face pulling and stomping about. I took her tablet off her yesterday & asked this morning when she could have it back. I told her she could have it back when she respects me, which was followed by 'That means I'll never get it back then'. She carried on being nasty so I told her that is taken her straighteners off her, which created another outburst.

I can't ground her as she never goes out, neither can I confiscate her phone as she only uses it to and from school.

I have just been diagnosed with a chronic health condition and even though I'm working, I'm in constant pain daily and could do without this.

Does anyone have any tips or advise please?

Why doesn't your dd go out? Does she have any hobbies?

Mine is same age and has attitude and can be delightful.

I would sweat the small stuff but have a couple of none negotiable rules and set punishments for these if broken like one day without tablet

If you take tablet away and say you get it back when you behave, what is the point as of behaving she is already being punished

You have my sympathy OP.

It might be better to avoid these type of punishments at her age. I'd try to let her see the natural consequences of the way she behaves: ie you won't listen to her or do any 'extras' for her if she's been rude to you. Try to ignore eye-rolling and muttering.
