OP wrt your ds -put a box of tissues and a waste paper basket by his bed. If you do it now ( I'm presuming he is young still?) so when he gets old enough to errrr 'use them' then it's no big deal. Ds has had tissues by his bed since he was 6 - well prepared here

Even worse, my DD threw used tampon under her bed and left it there for me to find when hoovering! She said she was too tired to go to the bathroom and forgot to throw it away in the morning.......Nice!

I couldn't be bothered to go to the loo as a teen so peed in a biscuit tin and left it under my bed it was there months before my mother found it.

I'm expecting karma to come and bite me on the arse when the ds's are old enough to be gross.
