or they will HAVE to pay adult rates on the bus EVEN if they are in school uniform on a school bus!!!!!

Child Tax? \link{http://www.reading-buses.co.uk/trav_readi_id.htm\details here}

and the queue to get one was terrible. So £5 + photo + trip to travel shop & v. long queue just so she can continue getting child fayre.

DS will need one before Sept as well.

"Under 5’s can still travel FREE providing they are accompanied by a fare paying adult"

You would hope they were accompanied!

Milliways · 20/04/2006 22:02

But not accompanied by ID bearing 16 yr old?

I am just Angry, cos she is bound to loose it & even though she will have to replace it I will be the one who has to queue up & get it again!!

Presumably a pensioner can't accompany the under 5 either...

Just wondering how many £5's the company have collected? There are a LOT of 11-19's!

its got his photo on and DOB he uses it to as proof of age - it was good enough to get on a plane to ireland with.

That doesn't seem fair. I live in cardiff and all children from 5-16 can by a young peaples freedom card for £6 this covers 12 bus trips so is good for school and they can use it in scholl holidays. My daughter is going to college in September and as it is 3 miles away she will get a free bus pass to be used in term times,this is for 16 to 19 year olds. If the college was neare she would get a reduced rate permit which would allow her to have child fares on schooldays.
I am glad about his as bus fares have just gone up and if she had to pay adult fares to get to college it would cost us a fortune. We have two other daughters one at uni which is costing us a lot and another aged 14. Sorry fo al my ramblings.

This has been reviewed and wont be going ahead at the moment.
