Good idea for getting your teens in on time!

I have just heard from a friend of her brilliant plan for getting DD in on time. She works shifts & her husband works away btw.

She goes to bed (early - due to shifts) and sets her alarm for 11:30pm. Her DD has to be indoors to unset her alarm (by Mums bed) before it goes off!

Fab idea - times could be adjusted. If the Mum got woken by alarm there would be trouble & no more late nights allowed.

What do you think?

too much hassle milliwaysGrin

I am from the grounded if you are one minute late brigadeWink

Grin - mine aren't allowed out late anyway (unless at friends house & transport arranged home) but for this situation - Mum has to go to bed earlier than Teen, it means she can sleep knowing will be woken if Teen not in.

I am just soooo glad that my 15yr DD has no desire to just be "out" late. She loves to shop etc, & sleepovers & parties etc are all fun, but she can't see the point of those that just "hang out". Suppose this will all change soon when they discover pubs etc :)

I like the idea, but can she actually sleep knowing the teenager is out? I havent yet crossed that boundary but am afraid iwont be able to sleep without knowing he is in his bed.

The point is very close, sometimes I do go to bed before him but dh is still up.

My friend woke up at 3 to go to the loo and found 15 yo dd still up doing coursework!!!

So she rushes in and up the stairs at 29 minutes past. trips over the cat who is sleepin on the warm bit of the floor on the landing, flies in through her mums bedroom door hits the alarm button knocking the alarm for 6 across the bedroom waking mum up in the process, if she doesnt sneaks off back out Grin. Thats what my DSS's would do
