stay at home boy

my teenager is 15 does not like going out with friends and just like to stay at home all day and watch tv or on on the computer...is this normal???????

yes, my 14yo DS does exactly the same. He does have friends who call for him but most of the time he declines to go out. My DS is quite a sensible child and I believe that he distances himself from their activities as he see them as childish and he prefers to do what he wants to do and feels comfortable with doing. I dont worry too much as at least i know he's safe!

Is he polite to you, generally a happy person? Reasonably healthy?
Does he socialise at school?
Many teenage boys would choose to do exactly as yours does, it is a phase. You can try and ration the times, or make sure that he's not on in the early hours and so not sleeping, but yes, normal.

Yes he is very polite and sensible, and he says he is ok. He just does not have a social life outside of school, which is really my concern. I have to ask him to come shopping with me just to get him out the house. Although I am glad to an extent I know where he is and that he is safe, however, it's just the social aspect I'm concerned about.

Sounds just like my DS (now 19), He still isn't a party animal . He goes out when he feels like it with his mates and his uni mates but doesn't drink and is really not overly fussed if he goes or not. He often says it Was boring so I came home.

I am actually quite happy with this, he doesn't give me anything to worry about (except he drives!). I much prefer this than not knowing where he is what he's doing and him rolling home pissed.

DS (16) was like this until the beginning of the year really - just the odd " can I go to the park/cinema with mates" . Possibly because they all live a fair way away?

Anyway he's been to a few parties/sleepovers over the summer and has " come out of his shell" just enough as far as I'm concerned LOL

DS is 11 and aspires to this!

Thanks for the reassurance guys, sounds like he's perfectly normal. Maybe one day he mught get bored at home and of his iwn company and want to venture outside! Then i might have a real problem😳
