Does this sound all right for an 18th birthday bash?

I have just one son, so am guilty of overthinking stuff and trying to make life as perfect as I can for him

A pub that's very relaxed about licensing laws.Shock I know they could still drink alcohol at a party at your house but I really wouldn't be happy about this as a parent. The meal sounds like a fab idea though.

Sounds good to me, been to a few 18ths/21sts like this in the past few years (I'm 22) and they've all been lovely Smile

Sounds great - both my DSs went out for a meal then a club for their 18th birthdays - though the club bit was disappointing both times round! DS2 has just celebrated his 21st and was happy to go out to a good Indian restaurant with his friends for a celebration dinner - paid for by Bank of M & D.

My logic is that if they have a limited amount of money to spend at the bar, there's a limit to how trollied they can get. Often house parties are stacked to the rafters with unlimited WKDs, beers, vodka etc etc so they get ridiculously drunk. At £4 a pint I'm hoping they will actually be better behaved ina pub!
