Enjoying the teenage phase

Hi,
I have a 12 yr old and 15 yr old and am really enjoying their emerging personalities. Yes, they do get very cross over trifles at times but the almost adult conversations at other times are just so interesting. I realise there is so much more fun to come in raising children! Anyone else really enjoy the teen phase?

Love them here too.
16 and 14 they are two affectionate thoughtful and interesting young men who I am very proud of.

AF- my DS1 is starting his GCSEs in May. I seem to recall there is usually a thread in the run up to GCSEs either here on teens or in secondary education. Here would be better I think as I find secondary is dominated by "which school" threads.

No! They are rude, lazy and think the world owes them a living! As you can see I am currently struggling with GCSE and A level revision (very little done). I'm just looking forward to the time they leave home.

My eldest is 13 and almost always lovely and great company.

As I sit here on MN, he is loading the washing machine (and I didn't ask him to).

Dear Fairyliz,
Do try to see the silver lining and the best in your brood - so important for their
development that they are praised a bit! Sorry if they are being tough at moment.

Jasperjohns, lucky you. Wow - the washing machine, my two don't know where it is Grin Well done .

Still enjoy my DC's affection though Smile

I love the teenage phase. I have two DSs, 15 and 19; 3 DD- 15 and two 4 years. There hasn't been any illegal jumbo, any massive arguments, etc. The oldest three all get on really well with their half-siblings and stepdad. I was terrified of teens ten years ago, when oldest DS was ten- relishing it now, and looking forward to my four year olds being teens as well!
