My dd has always been very happy and possitive person who enjoys socialising with friends enjoys school and is doing extremely well. However over 4 weeks ago she began to complain she was extremley tired. Didnt want to get up to do her usual routine and started to not do as much. She has been going to bed earlier and earlier, sleeping during the day, is pale in complection and has been having frequent headaches. This in itself is unusal for her. She has dropped off socializing so much with her friends and after a little exercise wants to sleep. She keeps saying she dosnt know what to do with herself she feels that tierd. Has been feeling woozy and dizzy from time to time. This does not seem to improve with rest either. We have been to the g.p twice now he has tested for diabetes anemaia and thyroid conditions and the results al came back normal. My daughter started getting upset at this and said why does she feel so bad to the g.p. His responce was we all feel like this from time to time its a fact of life! I was rather annoyed by this.
Has anyone else had an experience like this? any suggestions welcome!

Hello Kathy I was just wondering how your dd is feeling and if you have had positive help from the gp. I once recommended to an acquaintance when she told me about her daughter who had ME/ CFS to contact Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield. He helped her so much she is now studying medicine. You can google him.

She could be anemic?
Symptoms include fatigue, decreased energy and feeling light headed.

I see this is a very old post, what was the out come of your daughter? What you have written is word for word of how my 15yr old daughter is at the moment. She is having full blood tests in 2 days but I was wondering how long your daughter was ill for and what the outcome was if any?

What did you ever find out about your child with the extreme fatigue and dizziness? My son is experiencing similar symptoms for a month now. Any suggestions? We have had tested for Mono, Lyme, Thyroid, regular CBC, anemia...all came back normal. symptoms persist.

I hope you don't mind me raising this thread again ... so many years after I know but we are going through all of this with our 13 year old DD. We have an MRI tomorrow. I can't help but be worried - reading this thread was reassuring though that people are getting at least advice. I wondered how you are all getting on now? Would love to hear from you. Thanks so much x

My daughter is just out the other side of this ( fingers crossed) she had the exact same symptoms, she had really low iron ( which I know your daughter has been tested for) But my daughter also had really low B12. Has she been tested for that? She is now on to her third month of B12 and Iron and is doing great.

Take her back to the GP. As others have suggested it sounds like chronic fatigue syndrome. DN developed this at around 15, sleeping a lot, always tired, head aches etc!

She's had a tough ride, but is 18 now and has more or less come out the other side. She still has some days when all she wants to do is sleep, but these are getting fewer and further between.

My 15yo DD was like this. She had other symptoms too though and was admitted 5 times into hospital over a month period. Diagnosed with ME/CFS.
