Are the School allowed to do this

DD is a daygirl at a private school. She has been to the infirmary as she was upset, and had long chats with the nurse. Nurse has suggested that she speaks to the doctor, and has made an appointment for her (Doc visits the school). Now the question is, are they allowed to do this without consulting me. I am going to ask them but was wondering if anyone here knows.

They do not have to tell you as like everyone has already said, she has a right to her own confidentiality, she sounds old enough to understand what is going on and make conscious decisions for herself.

HOWEVER they are obliged to tell you if she is in immediate danger/child protection issue. Say she went to the doctor/nurse saying she has had suicidal thoughts/self harm issues (immediate danger) then they HAVE to tell you. Or say a child went to their nurse/doctor saying they were getting abused in the home (child protection issue)

It seems like she is not in any immediate danger, i remember when i was 14 and i had a bad time, a lot of teens do, especially as they are discovering who they are/confused about growing up/differing responsibilities or even that they are still seen as a child which was one of my issues as discovered in counselling.

How did you find out she had gone to the nurse?
