Not sure whether this is the place to post this but it relates to (almost) teenagers so here goes...
DD1 (12) brought some friends home after school today and they were having a good laugh telling me all about the other kids in their class - I was joking along with them asking who 'fancied' who and stuff - just generally joining in.
They started to talk about one particular girl who they said 'is always making things up' and telling me some of the stories she tells. One of them went on to say that this girl even said that 'her Dad sometimes rapes her'
.
I was pretty gobsmacked by this and must have shown it but they were adamant that it's just another of her made up stories and they don't believe a word she says.
I can't stop thinking about this and I'm now wondering if this girl (who I've never met and don't know from Adam)is telling the tales she does to try to draw attention to the fact that she really IS being abused by her Dad.
I'm toying with the idea of ringing the school and asking to speak to the Head of Year about it. Maybe I'm reading more into it than I should but I'm just not entirely happy with doing nothing. What do other MN's think?
