Quick advice on respite for teens? I could be offered it as dd currently in police custody and if I won't have her back this is an option. Apparently. Dd assaulted her Sid last night, second time in 2 weeks and both times resulted in arrest/detainment. Dd us increasingly violent and difficult. Ss/school etc all involved but I need to protect the 4 other dc too. Any exp of respite??

Also, harbouring orders? This would be to prevent the mothers of 2 of dd 'friends' harbouring her and encouraging harmful behaviour...... Anyone know about them??

God I feel for you - my 13 yr old ds is a nightmare too at the moment for various things and has been in trouble with the police and he can be vile to his siblings.

No idea about the respite but it sounds like a good idea.

I have heard harbouring orders mentioned and it means that if she disappears and you don't know where she is and you have not given permission for her to be at these houses and they know that then they can be in trouble.

Hope you are ok, its so wearing isn't it?

Sorry I don't have any experience or particular advice but feel for you..is your teen above or below 16? Has she been assessed by a psychiatrist to see if she has a treatable mental disorder?

It must be acutely distressing to be torn between which of your DC you are providing the most immediate care for.

Just a thought, are there any family friends that your DD likes and that would take her in for a few days whilst things calm down, so that you could do all this informally? Sorry if that is a stupid idea.
