So, the season is upon is. There I was thinking I lived in a small British suburb, but, no, apparently I've sent DD to an American High School. Already, her schoolmates are talking limos, dresses, hair, make-up and helicopters Wink.

Anyone else want to complain about share ideas about "Prom"? Grin

She's 17, rest of the year is 18, and it's their last year of school, of to uni next year - I wouldn't be indulging any of the "Pre-teen Prom" nonsense!!

She's being very sensible about - more than I would be at her age Blush - and even wants to use her sister's old vintage dress! And apparent limos are "sooooo cingey", so I hope she keeps that attitude up! Some of her friends through - I overheard one complaining because her mum would pay for a dress to be tailor made!!!!! Shock

A primary school near me had to turn down a request from a guy asking for his primary aged daughter (10 or 11 at the most) getting a helicopter to her leaver's disco Shock

Apparently the "after prom party" involves hiring two flats in town...Hmm, will have to have a think about that!

Fake tan?! On 7 year olds?! It's bad round here, but not that bad...

Some of the girls in DD's year will be turning up to prom spray-tanned within an inch of their lives - luckily we're a ginger family, so all the kids need to stay well clear to avoid their skin and hair matching (not a good look IMO).

i had a lovely prom! my male best friend was my date, i went in an old fashioned style car! [limos were also cringey] and i wore a long gold dress to the floor! i still have it! Smile then my friend was having an after prom party so a lot of went there and stayed over, it was great! and because we were 16 (when the age to buy fags was 16) and it was out of school, the teachers let us smoke outside! ha! although they did take our bottle of vodka that was hid in a friends bag away! ha! and the teachers used it as a threat for months, ''if you dont behave you wont be going the prom''
so they had nearly half a years peace leading up to the prom!
