Pre teen "attitude"...

My lovely dd has started saying things to me with "attitude" so it comes across as rude. When I point this out, she often says it wasn't rude, to which i say it comes across as rude.

I don't seem to be making progress with reducing the amount of attitude - is this just how it is with this age group ( as other parents in rl are telling me in )? Surely not?!!! Any wisdom gratefully received..

Burst into tears and sob about how unhappy you are, how unfair it is and how you just can't take it any more. Gives 'em a shock.

maryz we have not hit the actual teens yet, that's still 2 years away so I'm sure that will hold its share of challenges!!!

FattyArbuckel - we have decided to take ours to NZ and put them in a school there.

DS1 saw the school prospectus and said "that looks quite a strict school". I'm hoping it saves me a job.

ah now that's the thought that keeps me going. Turning up on their doorsteps when I'm in my dotage, case and tena lady pants in hand and of course by then I should have about 25 cats
