brushed forward look?

DS has had his hair cut into the brushed forwards look, and the hirdresser made it look good - what should he use to recreate it please? His hair is very thick!

The products you can buy at the hairdressers is very good but expensive.I usually buy what they used to create the style. Then buy it from a cheaper source such as Ebay. So pop in and ask her what she recommends.

Speaking as a hairdresser and also the mother of an emo son (ie the brushed forward or 'caught up in a tornado' look), I use any of the big brand versions of matt effect 'putty' or 'clay'. It's quite claggy so you need to put a glob in your palms and give it a good warm up first, and be careful not to use too much, but it keeps his hair in perfect place all day (which is very important to him!), and doesn't make it look too shiny or greasy. Also when you're styling it into place, imagine you are trying to brush his parting over starting way down too low, almost from ear level, if that makes sense - good luck if your son is anything like as fussy as mine Wink

the tigi product Manipulator is great! plus any product that has sea salt in it, there are some in superdrug

tigi products are usually cheaper on-line, look fantastic have Manipulator 2 4 1

Just found this thread again!

Thanks, it sounds like he needs to get some putty or clay.
