Hi
with this current heatwave, we are seriously considering a portable AC.
i have a 11 months baby so it can’t be too too loud and looking at midrange price. We will only be using it upstairs. Our rooms are not that big 4 x 3.5m max.
Thanks

We got one that was meant to be really quiet and it's like being next to an idling truck. It's so loud. Other people have said similar about different models. It works a treat though and the kids don't seem to mind the noise. I guess it's a bit like white noise.

If you want portable and really quiet, (and also way more efficient) have a look at Midea Porta-Split.

Price around £1K

We have a cheaper Signature brand one in the bedroom from Amazon and a mid priced Meaco one downstairs and both are equally noisy, ie quite loud. DH doesn't mind the noise at all but I find it a bit annoying. If your room is not that big though you can get away with one that is 7000BTU or even probably less so that brings down the price a bit. Our upstairs one is 7000 in a room about 4x4.

Energy usage is about 900w hour for our 7000BTU one,

From the pics, this looks as if it can only be installed if the room has access to the space outside the window.

Seems a bit of a stretch to say "As easy and flexible as a mobile AC" when to use it in any upstairs room you'd need to mount it on a wall outside
